Roosevelt Scout Reservation
Boy Scout Summer Camp

A lot of exciting things are happening at Camp Roosevelt! At Camp Roosevelt we have been focusing on ensure we have a high quality program for all of your Scouts - regardless of their age or Scouting experience.

Some Program Highlights

  • Named for the History of President Theodore Roosevelt, our Rough Rider First Year Camper program gives new Scouts an opportunity to work on the skills needed for their Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks. They will also experience other program areas of camp and have opportunities to work on merit badges too!
  • Our Cycling program consists of the Cycling Merit Badge (Including all of the riding!), Mountain Biking, and in-camp bike use. In 2013, Scouts and staff collectively rode over 6,000 miles.
  • Our ATV program begun in 2013, providing Scouts an opportunity to learn how to ride safe - and have fun doing it! Not only do Scouts have an opportunity to learn riding skills, but also have a chance to ride of of the trails we created at camp specifically for this program. (Please note that the ATV program is not approved as a unit activity. Camp Roosevelt and the Garden State Council has received authorization to administer this program for units attending camp)
  • Our Welding Program also began in 2013 and allowed Scouts the opportunity to try their hand at this skill.
  • Other program highlights include Aquatics, Nature, Scoutcraft, Shooting Sports, Health Services, COPE & Climbing, AND MORE!
