White Horse District Advancement The White Horse District Advancement Committee is a group of dedicated volunteers who work together to give guidance to Units using the BSA advancement programs.
The Committee meets monthly (usually the first Thursday of each month, in conjunction with the District Committee meeting) to review the advancements that have taken place. The Committee guides Eagle Scout candidates with their leadership service projects and conducts Eagle Board of Reviews (see below) and oversees the process to nominate adult leaders for the BSA District Award of Merit and other recognitions presented by the District to its leaders. The Committee also reviews all nominations submitted for a BSA Lifesaving or Heroism Award. WHITE HORSE DISTRICT EAGLE BOARD OF REVIEW The White Horse District Advancement Committee for Eagle Board of Reviews and Eagle Project Approvals meets monthly at the Haddonfield First Baptist Church usually the fourth Wednesday of every month. Scouts needing approval should contact our the District Advancement Chair Jim Gibson 609-876-9587 for an appointment once their workbook is completed up to Project Details and three of the four required signatures have been obtained. Nonapproved Time Extensions for Eagle Candidates – In the past, families of Eagle Scout candidates have tried to use nonsevere, temporary medical conditions as "extenuating circumstances" to get national approval for a time extension. Such an extension would enable the candidate to work toward Eagle requirements beyond his 18th birthday. Such requests will continue to be denied, and families and individuals should be discouraged from requesting a time extension for these reasons.
