Merit Badge and Program Opportunities

Garden State Council and its Districts host a number of activities throughout the year to give Scouts the chance to work on merit badges, rank advancements, and non-advancement awards. 

Check out upcoming merit badge and program opportunities from Garden State Council. Opportunities from outside organizations in the community are listed in the next section below.

Opportunities from Outside Groups

The following opportunities are administered by groups or organizations outside of Scouting whose missions align with that of Scouting. Click the Details button to visit their websites and get full descriptions, including costs, guidelines, and any additional dates. Scouts and units are still responsible for their own Youth Protection requirements and adherence to the Guide to Advancement and the Guide to Safe Scouting.

Service Opportunities

The following organizations offer service opportunities for Scouts, some of which might qualify as conservation service. These opportunities are offered by organizations outside of Garden State Council. Scouts and units remain responsible for following Youth Protection guidelines, the Guide to Advancement, and the Guide to Safe Scouting.

Conservation service projects offered typically monthly on a Sunday afternoon. Signup ahead of time to ensure they have space for you. Conservation service requires approval by your Scoutmaster.
