From the Office of a Field Director
Over the course of the last year many Scouters, volunteers, and others have asked, "What is a Field Director?" The definition that can be found on www.scouting.org is: A professional Scouter who is responsible for the supervision of professionals in two or more districts. Serves as interim District Executive when a vacancy occurs. In the Garden State Council there are two Field Directors. Nathan Clark, who serves Mahalala, Quakesen, and White Horse Districts or what is referred to as the River Field Service Area. Then Gary Copeland who serves BaySea and Old Colony Districts, or the Shore Field Service Area. Both are part of the Council's management team and are avaibale to work with volunteers assisting the professionals with unit service. While both have responsibilites that cover a wide range of Council operations their main focus is quality program and successful growth of the Districts in their service area. For more questions feel free to reach out to Nate and Gary and ask.
