Supplemental Information for July & August from the June 2012 Cub Scout Roundtable Meeting

Every month, the Roundtable staff hands out a Monthly Pack Resource Sheet for the following month's pack meeting.  This includes ceremonies, crafts, songs skits and so forth that were presented at the meeting and are a supplement to the Den & Pack Resource Guide.

We also use information from other sources (Like the amazing Baloo's Bugle), so not everything we present at Roundtable is in the Resource sheets.

The Resource Sheet:

Annual Pack Program Planning: (Steve)

During my talk about the Annual Pack Program Conference you should be running over the summer, I mentioned a pack planning form that used to be included in the middle of the old annual Program Helps book. Well, I found it along with a bunch of other resources to help you plan you pack's program for next year. The national website (www.scouting.org) has a whole page devoted to pack planning resources. It links to calendars, PowerPoint presentations, poster templates and other goodies.

And if you dig around enough (I did so you don't have to...), you'll find the long lost Pack Program Planning Chart for 2012-2013. Huzzah!

Pack Meeting Plans

The supplemental pack meeting plans aren't meant to replace the use of the Core Values in your monthly program, but offer an alternative way to present the Core Value using the traditional-style pack meeting themes.

Core Value: July: Courage, August: Honesty

Supplemental Pack Meeting Theme:  The supplemental pack meeting theme for July is Cubs in Shining Armor, for August, it's Kids Against Crime.

Thank You, Kim!

As we mentioned at the meeting, Kim Ellerthorpe, our Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner, will be moving to the wilds of Chester County, PA over the summer. Kim, for all your efforts in making our roundtable meetings happen, we thank you and wish you all the best!

By the way - If anyone is interested in becoming a Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner or staff member, just contact Steve Leth. Many resources, good training and personal mentoring are available.
