Tools for Growth this Fall

‘Tis the season to spread the word of Scouting, to grow units and reach more families. And, now more than ever, an activity that gets kids outside, unplugged, with fun, hands-on, character-building experiences is essential. Now is the perfect time to be a Scout!

To help units and families share Scouting, we are pleased to announce a new Recruitment Hub, and the #scoutsforme hashtag.

The Recruitment Hub features a link for units to request yard signs and flyers, details on the new unit growth incentive, and tips for answering questions about fees and recent events in the BSA.

Use #scoutsforme throughout your unit and personal social media accounts to tell your — and your kids’ — Scouting Story. Answer the question: Why is Scouts for you? Here are some examples of how to use the hashtag:

  • #scoutsforme means time with my family, outdoors and unplugged.
  • #scoutsforme means fresh air and a long trail.
  • #scoutsforme means giving back to my community.
  • #scoutsforme means new adventures with my friends.
  • #scoutsforme means learning to lead and to follow to get things done.

Remember that the picture with the hashtag is really what tells the story. We all have pictures from our Scouting adventures: Find the ones that tell stories of excitement, perseverance, triumph, fun, or friendship. And, be sure you have permission from everyone included, because Council will share some of your posts!Bonus: Add a Join Us call-to-action, and invite people to contact you for information on how to join your unit. Or, direct them to the BeAScout web tool to help them find a unit.
