The Garden State Council is excited that many parents and leaders enjoy spending time at Pine Tree or Pine Hill Day Camp. We appreciate these volunteers and we encourage volunteer participation. We feel that representatives from the Pack can help us provide a better experience for the Scouts especially in the role of a Den Guide. A Den Guide's primary responsibility is to be with the den throughout the day providing adult leadership and assisting the program area specialists and range masters as needed. Spending time with the Cub Scouts can be a very rewarding experience for anyone.
For every day that someone is able to volunteer at Pine Tree or Pine Hill day camp, he/she will receive a 10% refund of the price paid for their child to attend camp. This refund will be issued in August and will be a check mailed to the volunteer's home address.
The following are some of the responsibilities of Pine Tree and Pine Hill camp volunteers:
Must attend Camp Staff Training on Saturday, June 9, 2018. 8am to noon. Location to be determined.
Must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Must have completed Youth Protection Training.
Assist Camp Staff in administering program opportunities.
Assist Camp Staff in guiding participants and ensuring a friendly and enthusiatic environment.
All volunteers may register online as they are registering their child for camp.
The Camp Director has the ultimate responsibility of all participants, volunteers, and staff. While every effort will be made to allow each volunteer to serve in the capacity that they would like, the Camp Director may assign volunteers to roles throughout camp based on the most need.
