Camperships

Garden State Council Camperships

Opening the Door to Life‑Changing Summer Adventures

The Garden State Council is committed to ensuring that every Scout has the opportunity to experience the magic, growth, and adventure of summer camp. Camperships exist to support families facing financial challenges so that no Scout is left behind.

Purpose of Camperships

Camperships help make summer camp accessible by providing need‑based financial assistance to Scouts who might not otherwise be able to attend.
Summer outdoor adventures offer far more than fun—they build confidence, leadership, friendships, and values that last a lifetime.

Camperships are made possible through the generosity of Scouting alumni, community donors, organizations, and grant partners. Because available funds are limited, awards are based on demonstrated financial need and are granted only as funding allows.

A Scout is Thrifty: Scouts are expected to help pay their own way.
Camperships may cover up to 50% of the early registration fee for Garden State Council Day Camps and Kuweike Trek Camp  or our preferred partner, Ockanickon Scout Reservation (Washington Crossing Council), and only up to 25% of the early registration fee for any other out‑of‑council camp.

Eligible Programs

Camperships may be applied toward the following Garden State Council and partner programs:

  • Cub Scout Day Camp
  • Garden State Council Kuweike Trek Camp
  • National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
  • Ockanickon Scout Reservation Scouts BSA Camp
  • Out‑of‑Council Scouts BSA Camps
