How To Attend National Jamboree

Step 1: National Registration

Jamboree.Scouting.org

Start on the National Jamboree website and register your interest to attend as either a participant (youth or adult) or Jamboree Service Team staff (adult).

For staff, your registration will continue through the National site. For participants, no money is collected in Step 1. Make a note of your registration ID and continue to Step 2!

Step 2: Contingent Registration

Garden State Council's Participant Contingent
All participants must register with a Council Contingent.

Garden State Council is planning a contingent of 2 Scouts BSA Troops (4 Adult leaders, 36 youth) and 1 Venturing Crew (2 Adult leaders, 8 youth).

To attend Jamboree as a participant (youth or adult), you must go through the Council contingent.

Step 3: Attend the Shakedown

Required for Council Contingent Participants

Shakedown is a weekend spent camping with our new contingent units, where we get a chance to operate as an emerging team - it is effectively a "dress rehearsal" for Jamboree. At the Shakedown, we'll set up camp like we will at Jamboree Base Camp; we'll plan, cook, and eat our meals together; enjoy team building activities, and have fun as we get ready to spend 10 days together at National Jamboree!

Step 4: Complete Your Payments

Garden State Council's Participant Contingent

For participants, the cost is $2000 if you register and start your payment plan by Oct. 31. On Nov. 1 the cost increases to $2,215. We offer a payment plan option if desired. If needed, there is a scholarship program available at Jamboree.Scouting.org/Participants/Scholarships.

Included in the council registration fee:

  • National Jamboree participant fee
  • Transportation to and from Jamboree via motor coach (from Council Service Center)
  • 1 transit meal in each direction (to/from)
  • 1 new field uniform (“Class A”) shirt with all unit and position-specific patches for contingent unit
  • Uniform name tag
  • 2 Council commemorative activity shirts
  • 1 Council commemorative sun hat
  • Trading Patch Set
  • Shakedown campout (includes food)
  • Payment Plan

Through the Council's online event registration portal, a $400 deposit will hold your spot in the Council's contingent. The system is set up for monthly payments of $200. Later registrations will require a different payment plan.

Step 5: Embark on Your Adventure!

Suit up in your Contingent-specific uniform
All aboard for 10 days of fun and adventure! Don't forget to review the Council Contingent FAQ for answers to most of your preparation and attendance questions!
